11.29.09 - Puhsketti

We made spaghetti for dinner tonight and Maddie loved it, to say the least! In fact, there were probably two dozen usable frames that could have made the blog today but Angie and I finally settled on this one (thus the delay in posting!). She did everything but actually dump it on her head although she did manage to get a piece of hamburger stuck on her forehead. When she was finished, she went straight to the bathtub while Harley cleaned up the table!

11.28.09 - Park Place

On the way home from church and dinner tonight, Angie asked if we could stop by the Wey Mansion in Wichita's midtown neighborhood. It's one of Wichita's best-known Christmas light displays. And, what would you know? The Coolidge house display was on our way home from the Wey Mansion so, of course, we had to stop (again!). Maddie loved all the lights about as much as she did the horsies from yesterday.

11.27.09 - Horsies!

After a gourmet cup of hot cocoa from Cocoa Dulce, Maddie and I wait for our turn to ride the Bradley Fair horse-drawn carriage rides. She was enthralled at the sight of them and began waving her arms nearly uncontrollably. What a great date idea, Angie! If you want to go, the carriage rides are free from 6 to 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. The line forms at the giant Christmas tree.

11.23.09 - Peek-a-boo!

If there's two things Maddie likes, it's bath time and peek-a-boo. Tonight, she did both at the same time.

11.22.09 - Sweet dreams

Maddie awoke from her afternoon nap (her afternoon nap!) fully rested and ready to go! Unlike the last time she had bed head, she must have had some sweet dreams.

11.21.09 - Here's smilin' at you, kid!

Gramma Karen and Grampy Keith made an unannounced visit today. They brought Maddie a hand-made gingerbread house and she flashed them plenty of smiles!

11.20.09 - Happy Birthday, Nan!

We celebrated Nan's 77th birthday tonight. Cousin Emerson was there and did she give him some strange looks in the beginning! While she warmed up to him by the end of the night, Maddie better get used to the idea of having another baby around - only 11 weeks to go!

11.19.09 - Mommy's little helper

Maddie enjoys helping Angie make dinner. Tonight she tapped two wooden spoons on the floor as she whipped up some blueberry pancakes. And Harley was on standby in case anything hit the floor!

While putting away groceries tonight, Maddie helped herself to a little whipped cream.

Maddie's learned to give kisses. She loves to receive them as much as we love to give them!

11.14.09 - Bunco Babes (again!)

It's that time of year again when Angie (and Maddie!) plays host to the Bunco Babes. They don't really play Bunco anymore instead just having dinner and enjoying the conversation. She was a big hit with Nichole. Or was Nichole a big hit with Maddie?!!

11.13.09 - Path less traveled

It would have been much easier to crawl around the coffee table, but what fun would that have been?!!

11.12.09 - Eating better than the President

Our weekly breakfast for dinner featured pumpkin pancakes made from scratch. As Pop would say, "We're eatin' better than the President!"

11.11.09 - Waiting room

Maddie accompanied us to Angie's OB appointment today. We had to wait a long time (that's why it's called a waiting room, right?) but fortunately they had some Maddie-sized chairs to play with.

Don't worry, Maddie. I think we're next.

11.10.09 - Goin' on a trip

When packing for a road trip, it's very important to pack a few good books to read. Or eat.

11.09.09 - We have a tooth!

Maddie's first tooth is officially poking through her bottom gum however it's not quite visible enough for a photo just yet. We gave her this teething ring to chew on when we got home tonight and she tried to shove the entire thing in her mouth. It must make her feel a lot better.

Maddie is tall enough now we can just barely see each other over the arm of the sofa.

Well, the one thing they won't tell you in the "What to expect" series of books is that the time change will RUIN YOUR DAY! Oh, boy. We were all off our schedules today and patience was wearing thin. Finally, about two hours after Maddie should have taken her two-hour afternoon nap, I decided to take her with me to run a few errands. We made it to one store before Maddie zonked out in her car seat. Instead of finishing my errands I just drove around for an hour to let her sleep.
