06.26.11 - Tea Party

Today we cleaned Maddie's room and set up her table with her tea set and fruit. Maddie and Nate were very excited to see it all set up and had to have a tea party right away.

10.10.10 - Little House on the Prairie

Gramma Karen bought Maddie an indoor playhouse at a garage sale yesterday. We set it up in the basement after Maddie went to sleep so it would be a surprise first thing this morning. We waited with eager anticipation for her reaction yet she didn't even notice it.


But this animal train (also a garage sale find) that we've had forever is AWESOME!

09.22.10 - Technically

After dinner, Maddie pulled a package of opened cheese off the counter and dumped the contents on the floor. She was quick to say "uh oh" but quickly joined Harley in trying to eat the evidence off the floor. "Technically," Angie said in her defense, "that cheese isn't on the floor it's on the other cheese."

Don't worry. We didn't let her eat all of it!

09.12.10 - The Maximizer

Maddie was a good helper today. She carried clean kitchen towels from a basket in the living room to the appropriate drawer in the kitchen.


She did this a few times until she realized it would be easier (faster? more efficient?) to slide the basket into the kitchen to save herself some steps. Maddie's a maximizer!


It only looks like she's folding them!

08.22.10 - I pusha button, no you pusha button, no I pusha button!

Maddie has discovered the shutter button on my camera and insisted on snapping some photos tonight while I was trying to photograph Nate. I gave her a pair of lens caps to play with and she tossed them aside and said, "I don't want those." No kidding. Those words came plain as day out of her mouth. Today, she asked her mom "why?" when she told her to leave our bedroom and go play. Why? Because we said so, that's why!

And it starts.

08.09.10 - Lettuce wraps

We had lettuce wraps for dinner tonight. Maddie was picking at the meat until she saw me eat mine like a burrito. She couldn't quite get her hands around it so she leaned over and nibbled on it from her plate. So cute!

Maddie is starting to figure out how to dress herself ... sort of.

06.15.10 - Sprinkler fun

We took the kids out to the backyard tonight after dinner. Maddie wasn't so sure about her sprinkler mat at first.

06.08.10 - Don't climb on the sofa!

Maddie can get one knee up on the sofa but can't quite push herself all the way up. Sure it won't be long, though! Doesn't she look like she's getting caught?!!

Maddie enjoys playing outside while we make dinner. She spends her time swinging or digging in the sand. So far, she doesn't mind getting a little dirty!

04.19.10 - Head of the table

Thanks to her new booster seat, Maddie joined us for dinner tonight at the adult table and she loved it! (So did Harley!)

04.10.10 - Little Lady

Every once in awhile, Maddie does something that makes me pause, realizing that she is growing up. Today was no exception. While drinking her afternoon milk, she crossed her legs like a little lady. Now, how cute is that?!!

03.21.10 - Snack time

Maddie likes to sit with her feet crossed. She also like to eat Cheerios. She also like to share Cheerios with Harley. About 20 seconds after I snapped this adorable portrait of Maddie, there were about 20 Cheerios on the floor with Harley doing her best vacuum impression.

03.18.10 - Alfalfa

Angie gave Maddie a bath tonight. She has a little more fun with it than I do, apparently.
